Now that the election season is done and dusted, the inevitable hike in gas prices has finally happened as the prices of commercial gas across the country has been hiked massively.
According to the latest developments, the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders have been increased by Rs 993 from today, taking the cost of a cylinder to Rs 3,071.50 in Delhi. A similar hike has been registered in other cities across the country as well.
But the good thing is that the domestic LPG gas prices are not increased as of now. The government has decided to hike only the commercial gas supply for the time being.
And now that the prices of commercial gas has been hiked, people are speculating if this is going to be the starting stone of the upcoming hikes, possibly in petrol and diesel as well.
A few people are pointing out that the government of India might have refrained from hiking the prices due to the polling season. Now that the polling has been completed, the inevitable price hikes are looking likely.
But at the same time, the Ministry of petroleum had confirmed last week that there is no immediate plan to enhance the prices of petrol and diesel in the country, which is a good thing.
