It has become a growing concern, not just in Telangana, but all other parts of India as parents have been giving their vehicles to minor age children to drive on the roads.
Every time we step out on the road, we get to see minors driving bikes, freely without any fear of legal consequences. It is understandable that the kids want the thrill of riding the bike, but it is the responsibility of the parents to keep them in check.
In view of the growing incidents of minors driving bikes and cars, which is in return leading to accidents, the Telangana Police Department has taken every appreciable measure.
As per reports, Telangana Traffic Police Department has announced strict action against minors caught driving vehicles on the roads. The vehicle’s registration certificate will be seized for one year, meaning the vehicle cannot be brought onto the road during this period. Action will be taken directly against those allowing minors to drive.
This is not the end of the story either. It has been communicated further that the minor who is involved in this incident will not be allowed to get learner certificate till the age of 25.
This would essentially mean that the minor would be reprimanded for a period of seven years without learners license( generally given at 18) while the RC of the vehicle will be seized for 1 year.
This is extremely necessitated by the recent turn of events, more than 4000 RCs were reportedly cancelled by the Telangana Police Department in the last year itself. The common public is expected to react positively to the same as they are vexed with minors getting on vehicles and creating issues on the roads.
