13 Yr Boy Spent ₹4.11 Lakh On Free Fire, Commits Suicide

A 13-year-old boy from Karnataka has died by suicide after allegedly facing repeated threats over money linked to the online game Free Fire. His family claims that a group of local boys collected ₹4.11 lakh from him after promising to provide him with a better gaming ID.

The incident took place in Pandomatti village in Channagiri taluk of Davanagere district. The victim, T.R. Manoj, was an eighth-grade student who regularly played Free Fire.

According to his family, the issue started when some boys offered to arrange a better gaming ID for him in exchange for ₹6,000. They allegedly demanded more money later, claiming that additional payments were needed to unlock the ID and access more features.

The family further alleged that the boys threatened to reveal his gaming activities to his parents if he failed to pay. They also accused them of physically assaulting him on some occasions.

Fearing the threats, Manoj allegedly took money from his home in several instalments and handed it over to the boys. The total amount reportedly reached ₹4.11 lakh.

The matter came to light when his family noticed that money was missing from the house and questioned him. His parents later learned about the alleged threats and the money collected from him.

On October 7, Manoj died by suicide when he was alone at home. His parents subsequently approached the police, who registered a case and began investigating the allegations against the local boys.

Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and the alleged collection of money. The exact circumstances that led to the boy’s death remain under investigation.
