India Takes Revenge, Wins Second Test

Team India which faced a humiliating defeat in the first Test match against Australia, bounced back strongly and scripted history at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). India won the second Test match with 8 wickets and this win for the team is in the absence of Virat Kohli, Ishant Sharma and Mohammad Shami.

It was stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane who held the team to the winning side with an amazing display of cricket. Rahane scored a century in the first innings and put Indian on top and in the second innings he remained unbeaten at 27. Australia were bowled out for 200 runs in the second innings. Bumrah, Ashwin and Jadeja claimed two wickets each while Hyderabadi bowler Siraj took three wickets. India’s bowling attack has been hugely impressive.

Team India came on to bat with 70 runs to win the Test match. But the likes of Mayank Agarwal and Pujara have been cheaply dismissed. But debutant Shubman Gill and Rahane stood in the crease and secured the victory.

This win against Australia in Australia will go down in history as the greatest. “What a win this is, absolutely amazing effort by the whole team. Couldn’t be happier for the boys and specially Jinks who led the team to victory amazingly. Onwards and upwards from here,” tweeted Virat Kohli.
