Ratan Tata Hailed By Twitterati For His Humble Gesture

India’s veteran industrialist Ratan Tata is being appreciated yet again for his humble gesture. The 83-year-old travelled from Mumbai to Pune to meet one of their ex-employees, who has been ailing for the last two years.

Ratan Tata, known for his empathy, took time to travel to Friends Society in Pune to meet the former employee at his home. The act of kindness by the Padma Bhushan awardee is being widely shared and applauded by netizens.

The gesture came to light through a post by Yogesh Desai on Linkedin.

“Sir Ratan Tata, (83 Years old ) living legend, greatest businessman alive in India visited the friend’s society in Pune to meet his Ex Employee all the way from Mumbai who is ailing for last 2 years,” the post read.

Further, Desai appreciated Tata for not indulging in any publicity or promotion for the visit and hailed it as “commitment towards loyal employees”.

“This is how legends are made of. No media, no bouncers only commitment towards loyal employees. There is a lot to learn for all entrepreneurs and businessmen that money is not everything all that matters is being great human being,” he added in the post.

In the past too, the industrialist visited the families of all the 80 employees who were affected during 26/11 blasts in Mumbai.

He offered to sponsor the complete education of their children and cover the medical expenses for their entire families and dependents for the rest of their lives, including counselling expenses. The employees were also given a waiver on all loans, irrespective of the amount.

Recently, the octagenarian was conferred the title of Global Visionary of Sustainable Business and Peace by the Federation of Indo-Israel Chambers of Commerce (FIICC) for epitomising “unity, peace and sustainability”.
