The super strong second wave of Covid-19 in India is disrupting the daily routine of the people. The situation is deteriorating with each passing day. In yet another highest-ever single-day spike, 2,73,810 fresh Covid-19 cases and 1619 Covid-related deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Union Health Ministry’s morning data showed the same. With this, the total Covid cases count in the country touched 1,50,61,919. The active cases count stood at 19,29,329 as on Monday i.e April 19, 2021.
A total of 13,56,133 samples were tested on Sunday of which 2,73,810 have tested positive, confirmed the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
The Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours was reported as 1619. The Covid-related death toll in the country touched 1,78,769. Maharashtra, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh remain the top three states that have the highest number of cases and thus contributing to the daily Covid-19 spike.
Maharashtra (68,631), Uttar Pradesh (30,566), Delhi (25,462), Karnataka (19,067) are the corresponding Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. Telangana reported 4009 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
