Gates Children Will Inherit Less Than 1%

The divorce announcement of Microsoft founder and world’s fourth richest man Bill Gates with his wife Melinda Gates has come in like a surprise and shock to many followers. Bill and Melinda will be ending their 27 years of marriage life on USD 130 billion deal.

But what about Bill and Melinda’s children? They are blessed with three kids i.e, two daughters and one son. Jennifer Gates is 25 years old while 21-year-old son Rory and 18-year-old daughter Phoebe. However, the Gates children will inherit less than one percent of the family’s fortune.

This was a conscious decision of Bill Gates. Regarding the same, the Microsoft founder in 2017 said, “I definitely think leaving kids massive amounts of money is not a favour to them. My children will inherit just $US10 million each – equivalent to less than 1 per cent of his fortune.” Bill Gates is known for his modesty and simplicity and majority of his earnings go into the Gates foundation that works across the globe.

The overall Gates family fortune includes properties in five states in the US, a private jet and a fleet of luxury cars.

Elder daughter Jennifer is now a medical student in New York City. She graduated in human biology from Stanford University in 2018 and she got engaged to Nayel Nassar, who is a professional Egyptian equestrian rider in January 2020.
