If everything pans out as expected, 2027 Sankranti is going to witness the mother of all clashes in the history of Tollywood as all four seasoned stars might vie at the box office.
Till now, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh never locked horns at a time throughout their illustrious careers. On few occasions in the past, some of these top league actors coincidentally clashed at the box office during festivals. But, the next Sankranti is likely to see a rare and rather exciting tussle between the Fab Four of Tollywood.
Already, hit maker Anil Ravipudi announced that his next film with Victory Venkatesh will hit the screens for next Sankranti without fail. Malayalam actor Fahad Fasil will essay a significant role in this film which is tipped another out-and-out entertainer. Given Ravipudi’s working style, the film is mostly likely not going to miss out the festival season.
Joining Venkatesh is another senior actor Akkineni Nagarjuna who is said have recently finalized the sequel to his 2016 blockbuster rural drama Soggade Chinni Nayana. Kalyan Krishna is the forerunner to wield the megaphone for this film which will also reunite the Akkineni trio as Akhil and Naga Chaitanya are said to be a part of the cast.
As Nagarjuna is currently busy shooting for his landmark 100th film under the direction of Ra Karthik, the regular shooting of Soggade Chinni Nayana sequel will kick start in a few more months. Moreover, it is now likely that his 100th film will release this year at any cost.
While both Venky and Nag have already booked their Sankranti berths, two other big-ticket actors who are giving feelers to trade circles about their arrival are Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna.
After claiming the festival throne this year with Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu, Chiru is looking to bring an outright mass entertainer for next year’s Sankranti with his upcoming film under the direction of KS Ravindra aka Bobby. This is the second time after Waltair Veerayya that both Chiru and Bobby are reuniting and there are massive expectations on the combination.
As KVN Productions is entangled in a legal row over Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, the start of Chiru – Bobby film got delayed. If the shoot starts quickly, there is a strong chance that the team will push for Sankranti release.
Meanwhile, Balakrishna is also eager to join the heavyweight clash with his much anticipated film NBK111 which will be helmed by Veera Simha Reddy fame director Gopichand Malineni. The pre production activities are in full swing and the team might plan schedules to wrap up the entire shooting part before December and get the film ready for Sankranti 2027.
All these four actors command huge following among all sections of audiences despite the fact that the next generation stars have already taken over the reigns from them. So, if they really clash at the box office for the much hyped Sankranti festival at the twilight of their careers, it will be remembered for a long time.
Only time will tell if the clash of Tollywood titans happens or not.
