After Chhaava, Bollywood is yet to witness a blockbuster at the box office. Now, the industry pinned hopes on two big films that are gearing up for release in a gap of 12 days. Incidentally, both films are directed by South Indian filmmakers.
We are talking about Salman Khan’s Sikandar, directed by AR Murgadoss and Sunny Deol’s Jaat, helmed by Gopichand Malineni. As per the current trend, Gopichand is ahead of Murugadoss in this race.
Salman’s Sikandar is gearing up for release on March 30. Rashmika Mandanna is playing the female lead in it. Due to poor promotions, lack of exciting content in teaser and trailer and age-old filmmaking style is denting the expectations around Sikandar.
Salman has been in poor form with consecutive flops, and so is director Murugadoss. Until now, there is no positive aspect for this film, and only a good product can pull things together for it.
On the other side, Sunny Deol’s Jaat is slated for worldwide release on April 10. The teaser and trailer hinted that the movie is going to be a perfect commercial entertainer. This kind of filmmaking is common in the South but a rarity in the North.
Thus, the commercially packed trailer and teaser got a terrific response from rural North Indian Audience. Sunny Deol is also riding high on the success of Gadar 2. So, Jaat is expected to take good openings, especially in B and C centres. Bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, Jaat remains on top of Sikandar in terms of expectations and promotions.
