Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas’ latest outing Kishkindhapuri has managed to register a box office hit against the odds. Released alongside the much-hyped blockbuster Mirai, the film surprised trade circles with its steady performance.
The horror thriller, directed by Koushik Pegallapati, opened to mixed reviews but audiences showed encouraging interest. With collections holding strong through the first week, the movie grossed over ₹22 crores in its opening weekend. Analysts note that producer Sahu Garapati’s calculated approach in distribution and release strategy helped the film reach breakeven within the first weekend itself, ensuring profits for all parties involved.
Despite the limited reach of the horror genre, Kishkindhapuri has managed to attract viewers with its intriguing narrative and Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ performance. Trade reports confirm that even during the second weekend, the film is bringing in respectable numbers.
Interestingly, had the film been released a week later when there were no major releases lined up, collections could have been even bigger. With OG scheduled to arrive on September 25, Kishkindhapuri will continue to enjoy a clear run until then.
With this film, Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas adds another successful project to his career, while Koushik Pegallapati’s distinct approach has also been well-noted. For the makers, this is a clean and satisfying box office win.
