King Nagarjuna and director Ram Gopal Varma created history with Shiva, when no one believed in them. Two of them dared to think beyond norms of Telugu Cinema and decided to bring Hollywood standard sound design, camera work and narrative to Telugu and Indian Cinema.
Shiva did not just become a cult classic in Telugu but it changed the direction of Indian Cinema with its unique story telling. Ram Gopal Varma has become a sensational director and Nag, a dream action hero with the film.
Now, from a long time the makers have been remastering the original and have upgraded it to 4K version and converted mono track sound to Dolby Atmos. As Nagarjuna gives priority to perfection, they waited until the works are finished to announce the release date.
On the occasion of ANR’s 101st birth anniversary, as a tribute to the legend, Nag announced the release date. Shiva 4K is releasing on 14th November, this year. Nag said, “My father always believed cinema had the power to live beyond generations, and Shiva was one such film. Bringing it back to the big screen on 14th November in a completely new avatar of 4K Dolby Atmos is a tribute to his dream of keeping stories alive forever”.
