Suriya’s Domestic Staff Cheats Rs 2 Cr

Chennai police are investigating a fraud case involving actor Suriya’s former domestic staff. The actor’s personal security officer (PSO), Anthony George Prabhu, is reported to have lost Rs 42 lakh after being cheated by Suriya’s domestic worker, Sulochana, and her family.

According to authorities, the family persuaded the officer to invest money with promises of high returns. To gain his trust, they initially returned 30 grams of gold after he sent Rs 1 lakh. Confident in their credibility, the officer transferred a total of Rs 42 lakh between January and February this year. When he asked for repayment in March, the family vanished.

Police investigations revealed that this was not an isolated incident. The family is believed to have cheated multiple people in Chennai, reportedly amassing close to Rs 2 crore. Upon learning of the fraud, Suriya immediately ended the services of his domestic staff.

A complaint was filed in July, leading to an FIR. Police have arrested four family members, Balaji, Bhaskar, Sulochana, and Vijayalakshmi, who all previously worked at Suriya’s residence. They are now in judicial custody.

On the professional front, Suriya is currently filming Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, which will be his 45th film and is slated for a Pongal release. He is also shooting for Suriya 46 with Venky Atluri.
