Acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Vetrimaaran, who is known for dishing out gritty and non-linear commercial entertainers, has announced a film with Simbhu earlier this year after two of his much anticipated projects were deferred due to various issues. He was initially supposed to work with Suriya for a film titled Vaadivaasal and later confirmed Vada Chennai 2 with Dhanush. However, both films faced significant delays and compelled him to announce Simbhu’s Arasan in the meantime.
Now, as per reliable reports from Kollywood, Simbhu’s Arasan also faced hurdles even before going on floors. But, the reason is not Vetrimaaran. Due to an ongoing conflict between Simbhu and renowned production house Vels Film International, the film didn’t take off as expected. The shooting formalities of Arasan were supposed to start on Monday. However, the stalemate between Simbhu and Vels Film International has reportedly halted the start of Vetrimaaran ‘s film.
Going into the details, Vels banner moved Madras High Court in 2023 requesting a restraint order to bar Simbhu from doing other films as the actor failed to fulfill an obligation. The production house alleged that Simbhu took advance for a film titled Corona Kumar but failed to commence shoot despite signing an agreement with them.
The case is still on and continues to hurt Simbhu. Due to the legal entangle, Simbhu could not commence Vetrimaaran’s film. This is the third project of Vetrimaaran which faces hurdles to kick off shoot. His film Vaadivaasal with Suriya also did not take off after announcement. Now, Arasan joined the list.
Moviegoers have been expecting Vetrimaaran to come up solid films. Unfortunately, his films continue to face setbacks even before starting the shoots.
