Looks like even New Year eve couldn’t stop Telugu audience from their favourite form of entertainment. Despite the holiday mood, thetares have seen a healthy number of audience and strong booking activity.
Among the Telugu releases, Shambhala has taken lead with 47k tickets were booked on BookMyShow, which is huge lead compared to it’s contemporaries. The film’s positive response across social media has helped the film to hold it’s advantage on the box-office.
In comparison, Champion registered 17.35K tickets booked, while Akhanda 2 followed with 15.54K tickets booked. Even with trailing in numbers, Akhanda 2 continues to hold curiosity among audiences, indicating a steady base interest that could translate into sustained footfalls.
With major Sankranthi releases yet to arrive, trade observers believe Shambhala could continue to hold its advantage over the next few days, aided by open screens and limited high-voltage competition.
How long this momentum lasts before festive heavyweights enter the race remains the key question at the box office.
