When a filmmaker of SS Rajamouli’s stature appreciates a movie, it naturally becomes one of the biggest talking points surrounding the film. The ace director has now shared his review on Ramayana, and his words offer an endorsement of Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious adaptation of the epic.

Ramayana, which opened in theatres today amid unprecedented expectations, has been drawing positive reactions for its grand scale, spectacular visual presentation and impressive performances. From the casting of its central characters to the elaborate world-building and technical execution, the film has been winning appreciation from all corners.

Rajamouli expressed his admiration on X, particularly highlighting the experience of watching the film on the big screen. “#Ramayana… the sheer scale of the film and the visuals on the big screen are spectacular to watch.

Ranbir as Rama, especially from the Vanavasam onwards, is serene yet magnificent. Yash brings a menacing presence as Ravana, while Sai Pallavi is graceful as Sita. The pre-climax and climax… loved every bit of it. Congratulations @malhotra_namit , @niteshtiwari22 and the entire team on bringing such an ambitious vision so beautifully to the screen. 🙏”

For a film carrying enormous expectations and the responsibility of presenting one of India’s greatest epics on an unprecedented cinematic canvas, appreciation from a visionary like Rajamouli is certainly significant. His feedback has further strengthened the positive buzz surrounding Ramayana.
