PCB Seeks ICC Clarification Over Champions Trophy Branding Omission

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sought an explanation from the ICC regarding the omission of Pakistan’s name in the Champions Trophy 2025 branding during the live broadcast of India’s match against Bangladesh in Dubai. Unlike previous matches where Pakistan’s name appeared alongside the event title, the broadcast for this game only displayed Champions Trophy 2025, sparking PCB’s concerns.

Amidst the comments that Team India must omit having the Pakistan name on their jerseys, this sudden development has created unrest among the PCB.

The ICC has attributed the omission to a technical glitch and assured PCB it will not happen again. However, PCB remains unconvinced, given that graphics are typically prepared in advance and had appeared correctly in earlier matches.

India and Pakistan will clash in Dubai on Sunday. In the view of the same, PCB has demanded assurances to prevent further discrepancies.

Pakistan was awarded full hosting rights, but India refused to play in Pakistan due to government restrictions, leading to a compromise where India’s matches are held at neutral venues.
