Telangana Gives Another Shock To Andhra!

From the Covid-19 times Andhra and Telangana borders witnessed many events. Be it carrying patients from Andhra to Hyderabad and very recently over the illegal transport of weed, police from both the sides set up check posts and held raids on every vehicle that crossed either side.

Now a fresh controversy erupted with trucks belonging to AP farmers are being stopped by the Telangana Police at the borders. Apparently the Telangana Police received orders from the state government to impose restrictions on the trucks carrying paddy and so the cops are ensuring that no truck is entering Telangana.

This latest decision by Telangana government comes in the wake of the government of India refusing to purchase the remaining Rabi season paddy crop. In order to give high priority to home grown paddy that can be consumed in the state, the Telangana government asked the police to restrict AP vehicles.

Outraged by this, the AP farmers fumed and added that never such a thing happened like this. “Without prior information or orders, how can our trucks be stopped?” questioned farmers. With police restrictions at two major toll plazas, many trucks were sent back while many more were stuck at the borders.

A few farmers added that every year they would sell the crop (paddy) to Telangana and were surprised by the latest restrictions.

The farmers appealed to both the Andhra and Telangana governments to sort out the differences. Andhra farmers requested the AP government to intervene in this immediately and resolve the matter asap.
