Divya Vani Quits TDP, Blames Naidu’s Team

Actress turned politician Divya Vani has finally quit Telugu Desam. Short while ago Divya Vani held a press meet and explained what led her to exit TDP. She added that she was forced to leave the party and it all started against her about one and half years back.

“When temples were attacked continuously in AP, TDP held a meeting with all the prominent leaders. I was also invited to the meeting but one comment from Chandrababu triggered me a lot. He reportedly questioned the religious conversions but I was not fully aware of what he spoke in detail,” said Divya Vani.

Explaining why she converted from Hindu religion to Christianity, Divya Vani added that when my daughter was ill, I started reading the Bible and it helped me overcome a lot of hurdles. “Yet I never used Christianity for my personal gains. When I joined politics, I kept my family and religion aside and I still say that Chandrababu is a visionary leader but there are other leaders who are doing damage for the party,” said Divya Vani.

Revealing the injustice done to her, Divya Vani cited an incident. “On religious conversions, I wanted to explain some details to Lokesh but he told me to clarify the same to TD Janardhan. I sent a few voice recordings to TD and he said he liked them. But surprisingly a press meet was held with a Christian brother who hails from Tenali, he read all my points. I was shocked and questioned TD about this press meet. He wanted me to let go of this episode and this upset me severely,” added Divya Vani.

During the press meet, Divya Vani also fired at a few journalists who were reportedly writing against her in his reports. “A few journalists are targeting me on my religion but I would like to clarify to those journalists that I never took advantage of my religion and left everything behind and joined TDP. I earned the tag of firebrand because I countered every criticism of YCP against Chandrababu,” clarified Divya Vani.

When asked about her next journey, Divya Vani was diplomatic that she did not decide anything but whatever path comes before her, she will take it up.
