TDP Tekkali MLA Atchannaidu who was arrested in ESI scam has been granted bail by the AP High Court but with conditions. The court asked the TDP leader’s lawyer to provide a bond of Rs 2 Lakh and also informed Atchannaidu not to leave the country.
The TDP leader was arrested in the wee hours of June 12th for indulging in corruption which amounted to Rs 900 crore. On the same day, Atchannaidu was brought to Vijayawada from his residence in Nimmada. For bail, Atchannaidu approached the ACB court but he was denied one.
However, the TDP leader who underwent a piles surgery fell ill when he was in jail. Upon the family members request, Atachannaidu was shifted from Guntur government hospital to Ramesh hospital in Guntur. When in private hospital, Atchannaidu tested positive of the Covid-19 and later was moved to NRI hospital.
For now Atchannaidu will continue to stay in the hospital as he is yet to recover from the virus.
