IT raids don’t always guarantee success!

In the backdrop of the Telangana Assembly elections, IT attacks on the houses of Congress leaders, especially on the houses of top leaders contesting on behalf of that party, have become a sensation. Recently, IT searches were conducted at the residence and offices of former MP and Congress Paleru candidate Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy. Raids are being conducted at Ponguleti’s residence and offices in Khammam and Hyderabad.

Prior to this, the IT department also raided the office of Khammam candidate, former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, who recently left BRS and joined the Congress. With this development, it is being argued that the BJP-led central government has targeted the Congress. Also, TPCC chief Revanth Reddy was fired on this development.

“Today Ponguleti, yesterday Tummala, what is the sign of IT raids on the houses of many Congress leaders!? Why are there no IT raids on the houses of BJP and BRS leaders!? Modi-KD (KCR) is panicking after receiving clear information that a Congress tsunami is coming in the state. What is being done to stop that tsunami? This is a conspiracy. I strongly condemn these attacks. On November 30, BJP & BRS are sure to be lost in the Congress tsunami.” Said Revanth.

IT attacks during elections have been happening in the country for the last five years. In the past, IT raids were also conducted on the houses of the leaders of the DMK (currently in power) who had allied with the Congress during the Tamil Nadu elections. Similarly, the houses of the Congress leaders were not spared. However.. there the power went to DMK.

Also, during the Karnataka elections held in May this year… IT boomed. Congress leaders, including DK Shivakumar, also raided the residences of Mallikarjuna Kharge’s son Priyank Kharge. Congress turned these issues into campaign weapons in the then elections. The BJP has fallen away from power. Observers say that with the attacks taking place in Telangana, BRS-BJP is promoting unity, and BRS will be affected more than BJP.

The history of IT attacks during elections is not new, with similar incidents occurring in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in recent years. In those cases, the power dynamics shifted, indicating that such moves don’t always guarantee success. Observers now speculate that these attacks in Telangana might be fostering unity between BRS and BJP, potentially affecting BRS more than the BJP in the upcoming elections. The political chessboard is set for a decisive move, and the loser remains uncertain until the final play on November 30.
