Actress and politician Khushbu Sundar who is the spokesperson of Tamil Nadu Congress, has resigned from the party. Having made her political debut in 2010, Khushbu initially joined DMK party. After four years, Khushbu moved to Congress and is playing an active role. Being an actress, she enjoys popularity and so Congress has utilised her in other states too during the elections.
With an eye at the 2021 Assembly elections, BJP has started the operation akarsh and wants to pull as many popular leaders from other parties. Accordingly BJP and Khushbu held talks and seems like the talks have worked out.
But we hear that Khushbu was deeply upset with Congress because of its action. In the last year’s Parliament elections, Congress and DMK formed an alliance and Khushbu who was expecting a ticket was snubbed.
Since then the distance between Congress and Khushbu grew with each day passing. Learning about Khushbu’s unhappiness with Congress, BJP approached her and even promised an MLA ticket if the saffron flag is taken up.
In her resignation letter Khushbu stated that few elements seated at higher level within the party, people who’ve no connectivity with ground reality or public recognition are dictating terms and people like her who wanted to work for the party sincerely are pushed and suppressed.
Khushbu’s resignation came minutes after the Congress had dropped her name from the AICC Spokesperson’s list with immediate effect.
