Finance Ministry Bans ChatGPT and DeepSeek For Official Work

The security concerns over the usage of Artificial Intelligence tools are surging all over. Earlier, Australia banned the usage of DeepSeek for government officials and now India is following the same.

The finance ministry has issued a warning to its employees against using artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT and DeepSeek on office devices. The advisory from the financial secretary highlights the risks of using AI applications with the confidentiality of government data and documents.

The advisory specifically mentions ChatGPT and DeepSeek and asks to avoid using these AI tools as they pose a significant threat to data security.

The advisory was issued on January 29, 2025, and the government is implementing strict measures to protect sensitive information.
