As the TDP+ government completes its first year on June 12, Chandrababu is preparing to roll out a major welfare scheme exclusively for women. This move is set to fulfill one of the key promises made during the election campaign: a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,500 for women aged between 18 and 59 in every eligible household. This promise drew massive support from women voters, many of whom played a decisive role in the NDA’s victory.
Since then, women across the state have been eagerly waiting for the scheme to be implemented, trusting that Chandrababu would deliver on his word. Now, the wait seems to be over.
The scheme, expected to be officially launched as part of the government’s first anniversary celebrations, will benefit women from BC, SC, ST, and minority communities. However, it will not be extended to the economically well-off or to women from upper castes unless they meet poverty-related criteria. Only those with white ration cards or those living below the poverty line will be eligible.
With ₹1,500 per month—amounting to ₹18,000 a year—this financial aid is expected to bring meaningful relief to underprivileged women and improve their standard of living. Beyond welfare, the initiative is also seen as a strategic political move to strengthen TDP’s female voter base.
