Naidu clears Jagan-Era Fee-reimbursement Dues

Minister for Mines and Excise Kollu Ravindra said the coalition government has given a big festival gift to students. Speaking at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri, he explained that the government is committed to supporting poor students and their education.

He said the coalition has so far cleared ₹1,788 crore of arrears left by the previous YCP rule, including ₹400 crore paid recently. He added that the government is making sure no student’s studies stop due to money problems. By restoring the old fee reimbursement system, the burden on parents has been reduced.

Ravindra credited Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Education Minister Nara Lokesh for helping students from poor and weaker sections. He said over 10 lakh students have already received their certificates after the government took quick action. Colleges have also been warned not to trouble students for fees.

He criticized Jagan Mohan Reddy, saying funds meant for students were wasted and diverted, while many students suffered. He recalled that between 2014 and 2019, the TDP government spent ₹10,136 crore on fee reimbursement for 16 lakh students.

The minister said the coalition is now bringing reforms in education. Parent-teacher meetings are being held transparently, schools are getting better facilities, student kits are being given without politics, and quality meals are being served through the “Dokka Seethamma Bhojanam” scheme. He also mentioned that teacher transfers and DSC recruitment have been done in a transparent way.

Ravindra recalled that under Chandrababu’s leadership earlier, 1.96 lakh teachers were recruited. He alleged that under YCP, SC, ST, BC hostels, study circles, and overseas education schemes were destroyed. Now, the coalition is restarting the foreign education program with bank support.

He further said big companies like Quantum Valley and Google are coming to the state, and already ₹10 lakh crore worth of investments have been confirmed. These will create 20 lakh jobs and help Andhra Pradesh grow as the best knowledge hub in the country.
