After winning from Undi constituency in the 2024 Assembly elections, Raghurama Krishna Raju is currently serving as the Deputy Speaker. While such constitutional roles usually require leaders to stay away from active politics, he has chosen a different path to stay connected with his constituency.
Learning from past examples where leaders lost public connect after taking similar posts, Raghurama has made it a point not to distance himself from the people. Even though he does not directly participate in routine welfare programmes like pension distribution, he closely monitors their implementation and keeps track of public issues.
He regularly interacts with residents to understand their problems and ensures that they are addressed without delay. Special attention is being paid to the functioning of government officials, and whenever lapses are noticed, he steps in to correct them.
In some cases, Raghurama has even spent personal funds to resolve urgent local issues. He keeps a close record of ongoing works and pending problems, giving priority to those that need immediate action.
Undi has traditionally been a stronghold with a solid TDP cadre, and the party has consistently won from the constituency. Raghurama is careful to maintain this balance by avoiding internal conflicts and maintaining cordial relations with senior party leaders, including those who supported his candidature.
By staying accessible, monitoring administration, and focusing on public welfare, Raghurama Krishna Raju is working to keep his political standing strong. His active presence in the constituency is helping him build an image as a dependable leader, while also securing his position for the next elections.
