YSR Was the Reason for Pawan’s Political Entry?

Andhra Pradesh, deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan had a pretty aggressive press conference at his residence in Jubilee Hills today and he had a series of highly controversial comments to make.

Pawan Kalyan pointed out that it was YS Rajasekhar Reddy, who instigated him to enter politics in the first place by provoking him badly.

The deputy CM pointed out that there was one highly ranked police officer from the previous Andhra Pradesh administration who met with him and spoke briefly about Rajasekhar Reddy’s plans against him.

Kalyan revealed that this police officer had communicated to him that Rajasekhar Reddy administration was looking to file cases against him and threatening him if he was entering politics.

“The reason why I entered politics is because Rajasekhar Reddy provoke me. I had no intention of entering politics till Rajasekhar Reddy targeted me and threatened my existence. I fearlessly took on him and his violent politics to become what I am today. I am not a person who would bend for pressure and violence.” Pawan Kalyan said.

The fact that Pawan Kalyan said Rajasekhar Reddy and his violent politics were the reason why he entered the political atmosphere in the first place is an interesting revelation. Not many people knew that Pawan Kalyan had altercations with Reddy from the 2004-5 era itself.

It will be interesting to see how Jagan reacts to these remarks. With Jagan becoming increasingly vocal in recent months and Pawan directly linking his political entry to YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s actions, these comments could potentially trigger a fresh round of political exchanges between the two camps.
