After its successful protests over the NEET paper leak issue, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is taking its movement to the next level. The group has now joined hands with farmer organisations to make its campaign stronger.
Many political observers point out that the farmers’ agitation and the recent NEET protests have become two of the biggest public movements faced by the Modi government in recent years. CJP now hopes to bring these two groups together.
CJP leaders met farmer leader Rakesh Tikait in New Delhi on Tuesday. They discussed bringing students, youth and farmers onto one platform to raise issues affecting the public.
CJP said its movement is no longer limited to NEET. The party wants to expand its campaign and take up more public issues. It believes that if students and farmers stand together, their voice will become much stronger.
The group has also demanded that all police cases filed against student protesters should be withdrawn. It warned that if the government does not act, the protests could spread to more states with the support of farmer organisations.
Rakesh Tikait expressed support for the student movement and said farmer Union would stand with the students. His support is expected to give the movement more momentum.
