Just a few days after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 81-year-old Asgar Ali Vora got his disputed land back from a BJP leader in Mira Bhayandar.
Last week, Vora met PM Modi and told him about his land problem. He asked for help and said local political leaders and builders had forcibly taken his plot. The meeting immediately caught the attention of the media and became a topic of discussion in political circles.
In no time, the BJP top brass in Maharashtra started looking into the case. BJP leader Narendra Mehta was holding this disputed land through his company. Vora bought this piece of land in Bhayandar East in 1989. But later, some builders allegedly used fake papers to take over his property.
The victim complained to many officers for years, but no one listened to him or helped him. He finally approached Modi, who was his classmate during their school days.
With Modi’s intervention, top officers and BJP leaders called for a meeting in Mumbai. Mehta agreed to give up his claim to the property. He returned the building permit and withdrew his old police case against Vora.
Top government officers from the city council and state government were present at the final meeting. They made sure all the land papers were cleared in favor of Vora. The old land dispute was finally resolved peacefully in front of everyone.
