ICC officially approved the hybrid model for Champions Trophy 2025 and for future tournaments.
Pakistan and Dubai will jointly host the event as per the agreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI). Pakistan was supposed to host the Champions Trophy 2025, but due to political tensions between India and Pakistan, the BCCI was not ready to travel the country. The Ind-Pak match will be played in Dubai.
According to the agreement, both BCCI and PCB in principle have agreed for T20 World Cup 2026 that Pakistan won’t travel for the Ind-Pak league game to India but will play that in Colombo. In this regard, there will be no compensation for PCB, but they will get to host an ICC Women’s tournament after 2027.
Pakistan earlier traveled to India for the 2016 World Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup.
