Has Asia Cup Lost Its Vintage Glory?

The ongoing season of the Asia Cup tournament is progressing with the least hype and anticipation with not many people even aware of the fact that the tournament has started. The otherwise anticipated clash between India and Pakistan was also dead rubber yesterday.

This is bringing us to the discussion on social media, where many people are publicly commenting that Asia Cup is possibly the most useless tournament.

Even statistically speaking, no other team in the Asia Cup tournament is equipped enough to face India or post a significant threat to the men in blue.

It is just like a superpower country like India facing a bunch of lesser comprehensive sides like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. The games are anyway, not going to be too competitive at least for India.

On top of that, there is extreme opposition to the tournament itself from the Indian community as people are commenting that the revenue generated will be shared partially with Pakistan which is provoking terrorism against India.

So, in every which way there is this public backlash against this Asia Cup tournament and people are calling for India to quit such cricketing activities in the future. It has to be seen what kind of decision the BCCI would be making in view of all that’s been happening.
