It is already known that Diageo entity currently holds the ownership for Royal Challengers Bengaluru IPL franchise, and they have put the team for sale in the market. In the meanwhile, there has been a lot of interest to acquire the RCB team.
In this regard, the latest development are suggesting that Indian billionaire Adar Poonawalla is reportedly, contemplating the decision of acquiring the RCB team.
It is already known that Mr Poonawala is one of the biggest players globally when it comes to the vaccine market as his Serum Institute company produces the most volume of serum anywhere in the world.
Considering the fact that this Indian billionaire has no short of financial resources, he can pretty much go out when it comes to acquiring the RCB team and he is reportedly on course for the same.
There are reports that RCB is currently valued at ₹16,000 crore. So this billionaire will have to invest a significant portion of his money on this IPL team, if he really wishes to go all out and acquire it by placing a bid in the market.
It is strange to see the case of RCB, which had recently won the IPL trophy for the first time in history, but being put on sale immediately after this accomplishment. It has to be seen if we would be witnessing a new ownership for RCB before the start of the 2026 season, which is roughly 2 months from now.
