One of the most decisive games of the ongoing season of IPL unfolded last night as Rajasthan came up against Lucknow. This was a particularly important game for Rajasthan for them to qualify for the playoffs.
In accordance with this, Rajasthan was particularly good with the bat in the second innings as they chased down the target of 220 that was set by Lucknow earlier.
This is a big win for Rajasthan and will significantly improve their run rate which was positive already. They have now shifted to the fourth position on the points table and are in prime position to qualify for the play.
This big win for Rajasthan will be bad news for both Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings. If Rajasthan wins their next game against Mumbai, they’ll be through to the playoffs regardless of the outcome of Punjab and CSK’s next games.
But if Rajasthan loses and Punjab wins, then Punjab will go through on better run rate. For CSK, it’s going to be a tough ask as they’ll have to win by an abnormally big margin even if Rajasthan and Punjab loses.
