Viral: Indian Family Swept Away By The Waves

An Indian family of eight was swept away by strong tides at a beach in Oman. Three members of the family were rescued and two bodies of five drowned were recovered today.

The Sangli family from Maharashtra went on a picnic on Sunday at Al Mughsayl beach in the Al Mughsayl area of Dhofar in Oman. Oman’s civil defense and Ambulance Authority claimed the members fell into the sea after they crossed the fence at Mughsail beach. A video has now gone viral where the members of the family were seen being taken away by tides when they crossed the fence to take pictures.

Local authorities recovered the bodies of Shahhikant Mhamane and his six-year-old son Shreyas. The search was on for Shreya Mhamane (9) and two other family members. Shashikant worked as a purchase manager at a private firm in Dubai and the family went on a trip during the Eid holidays.

Netizens who watched the video are saying ‘lives are more important than likes’.
