With a massive win against Delhi Capitals last night, Sunrisers are still alive in the playoff race. To qualify for the playoffs, SRH needs to win their rest two games and also pray for some results to go in their way. Here are the chances of them qualifying for the knockout stage.
SRH will play its next two games with Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. They need to win these two games. It is not that easy as RCB and MI are the top two teams of the points table right now. Even if they lose either one of these games, they will be out of the playoff race. If SRH manages to win these two games, they will end up with 14 points. Their net run-rate is +0.396 and it is very high compared to the other teams.
After winning these two matches, they need to hope that at least two teams of the top 5 positions at present should get only 14 points or less than that. If that happens, SRH can cruise into the playoffs. Otherwise, they will be out of playoffs for the first time since 2016. As of now, expect for CSK, all the other teams are in the race of playoffs and no team has been qualified yet.
