Finally, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers became the second and third teams to qualify for the playoffs. In the last match held between both the teams, Delhi Capitals won by five wickets. RCB qualified as well despite losing the match because Delhi Capitals failed to chase the total in 17.3 overs. They took 19 overs to finish the game. Delhi is now in the second position of the table. With this feat, they have become the only team in IPL history to stand in each of the ten positions of the points table. Here are the various positions Delhi has finished in all the 13 seasons.
st position: 2009, 2012
nd position: 2020
rd position: 2019
th position: 2008
th position: 2010
th position: 2016, 2017
th position: 2015
th position: 2014, 2018
th position: 2013
th position: 2011
Mostly, no other teams can achieve this feat in the near future as there are only eight teams in IPL right now. Delhi will play Qualifier 1 against Mumbai Indians on November 5. On the flip side, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face either Sunrisers Hyderabad or Kolkata Knight Riders on November 6 in the eliminator. The winner of eliminator and loser of Qualifier 1 will play in the Qualifier 2 on November 8.
