There has been a dilemma prevailing about the future of H1-B visas ever since Donald Trump won the US elections. Considering the visa rejections and other effects on student and work visa holders, there is a constant debate on social media about the new Trump rule, while the appointment of Sriram Krishnan as Senior Policy Advisor for AI at the White House escalated it even more.
However, US President Donald Trump in a most recent statement supported H1-B visas for ‘competent’ people not only in the tech industry but people at all levels.
During a press conference at the White House on Tuesday, Trump said he likes both sides of the debate on the H-1B foreign gues workers’ visas stating that he welcomes ‘competent people’ coming into the country.
‘I like both sides of the argument, but I also like very competent people coming into our country, even if that involves them training and helping other people who may not have the qualifications they do. I don’t want to stop. I know the H-1B program very well. I use the program,’ Donald Trump said.
‘So, we have to have quality people coming in. By doing that we are expanding businesses, and that takes care of everybody’ added Donald Trump.
