Incidentally, a native of Banjara Hills, Hyderabad was reportedly washing his car with the drinking water that is supplied by the Hyderabad metro water board. This incident was captured by water board, managing director, Ashok Reddy, who happened to be passing on the road.
Immediately after coming across this incident, the Hyderabad Metro water board, MD reprimanded the individual who was using drinking water supplied by the department to wash his car on the road.
The concerned culprit was immediately notified of the offence, and he was imposed a fine of ₹10,000 by the department.
The MD pointed out that drinking water is of great significance, and the residents of the city must pay highest caution when it comes utilising the same. He said he was infuriated when he saw a Banjara Hills resident using the drinking water to wash his car, and that is why he imposed such a fine on the culprit.
