In the recent past, there have been several fatal incidents involving airways and there’s increasing public demand to enhance the safety standards of air travel. But on the contrary, we have a shocking incident that happened at the Mumbai airport which is drawing extreme backlash.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Air India AI2732 was taxiing from C1 towards M4 for departure when the IndiGo arrival flight was taxiing to join B1 at the Mumbai airport which is one of the busiest airports in India.
During the manoeuvre, the right wing tips of both aircraft touched each other. Both aircraft were taxiing at the time of the incident and were immediately returned to their respective bays for detailed inspection.
No injuries were reported and officials from the Mumbai office of the DGCA reached the site to assess the situation.
The concerning fact that the security teams and ground crew were so ignorant that two flights clashed wings into each other at the famous Mumbai airport is becoming a shocking topic of discussion.
Incident like this will leave the public more panicked and anxious about air travel in the days to follow, it must be said.
