As we bid farewell to 2023 and eagerly anticipate the new year, Tollywood fans had varying experiences with their favorite stars on the big screen. While some heroes delivered hits, others chose to stay away, leaving fans with mixed feelings.
Here’s a glimpse of the prominent Tollywood stars who were notably absent from the silver screen this year:
RRR Stars
The much-anticipated combination of NTR and Ram Charan in “RRR” created high expectations, but after the film’s release, their new movies have been postponed to next year. Ram Charan is working on “Game Changer,” and NTR is working on “Devara.” Both films are hitting the screens next year.
Mahesh Babu
Known for his consistent yearly releases, Superstar Mahesh Babu did not grace the big screen in 2023. Despite starting a movie with Trivikram Srinivas titled “Guntur Karam,” the film faced several breaks and is currently in the shooting stage, with a confirmed release around Sankranti.
Allu Arjun
Icon star Allu Arjun, who achieved stardom across Tollywood and Bollywood with “Pushpa,” and also bagged a National Film Award did not appear on the screen this year. However, fans can anticipate his return with the highly awaited “Pushpa 2,” which aims to achieve even greater success.
Nagarjuna and Venkatesh
While seniors Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna had film releases this year, the others, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh, opted to stay away from the silver screen in 2023. Nagarjuna, facing a series of failures, is planning his next moves strategically with ‘Naa Saami Ranga.’ On the other hand, Venkatesh did not have a release this year despite consecutive victories and acting in the Hindi film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.’ He is currently experimenting with a different genre and gearing up for the release of “Saindhava.”
While some stars chose to take a break or faced delays in their projects, Tollywood fans can look forward to a cinematic treat in the upcoming year as these stars gear up for their much-anticipated releases.
