Icon star Allu Arjun is currently occupied with work on his next film, directed by Atlee. The futuristic film, which is going to be made on a grand scale and a big budget, is already generating a big interest at the box office. Until he completes this film, he will not sign any new film, but a producer in Bollywood aspires to make the sequel to Disco Dancer with Allu Arjun.
Disco Dancer, which was released in 1982, had Mithun Chakravarthy in the lead role. The film has become a very big hit at the box office. The film traced the journey of a street singer, Jimmy, who rose to stardom. Director Subhash has been planning to make a sequel to it and already roped in Vijayendra Prasad to pen the story. The director aspires to do the movie either with Ranbir Kapoor or Allu Arjun.
Over the copyright issue, the film faced legal troubles in the recent past but the court ruled out that Subhash owns the creative rights of the movie. “We will ask KV Vijayendra Prasad to write the story and screenplay. He was writing it until Shemaroo filed the case against my co-producer and me. I may direct the movie, but the final decision will rest with the actor who is cast as the lead,” the director recently revealed.
The team has big plans to shoot the movie in Russia and rope in three or four international music idols, including Russian groups, to compose some songs. More details will be out soon.
