Ravi Babu is back in the spotlight with Razor, and his pre-release interaction has sparked strong conversations about realism, discipline, and the current state of Telugu cinema. Known for his unconventional storytelling, he didn’t hold back while sharing his views on stardom, originality, and filmmaking challenges.
He made a striking statement about action performances, saying he couldn’t find an actor with his level of fitness and physical ability to pull off the intense sequences in Razor. According to him, nearly 90% of heroes depend on body doubles, but he chose to perform the action scenes himself, which is why he decided to play the lead role.
Ravi Babu also reflected on how the industry has shifted over the years. He pointed out that cinema has become more actor-driven, where star power dominates openings, even though content ultimately decides a film’s longevity. At the same time, he stressed that originality is becoming rare, with many filmmakers leaning towards imitation instead of innovation.
Speaking about filmmaking techniques, he highlighted the discipline that existed during the film era compared to today’s digital workflow. While technology has made things easier, he believes it has also reduced the precision and seriousness that once defined the craft. Still, he maintained that core elements like storytelling and execution remain unchanged.
Star producer Suresh Babu presents the film under the Suresh Productions banner, continuing his long association with Ravi Babu, while Flying Frogs handles production. The technical crew includes cinematographer Charan Madhavaneni and music composer SS Rajesh.
