The 2019 election result is by far the worst ever electoral verdict in the history of TDP as the party won just 23 seats. In reality, the result faced by YCP in 2024 is much worse with just 11 seats, but when TDP faced such a result in 2019, doubts were raised about its existence.

Adding to the poor result, a ruthless Jagan Mohan Reddy tried his best to decimate TDP by arresting Chandrababu and destroying the morale of the cadres before the election.

However, much like what it has been doing for multiple decades, TDP withstood the test of time and stood strong again after the shambolic 2019 verdict. In the 2024 polls, TDP along with the NDA alliance won 164 seats in the AP assembly and this feat is unlike any other in AP’s electoral history.

As per reports, in just 8 days, TDP has gained 10 lakh, meaning the party has added over 1.2 lakh members each day on average for the last 8 days.

The membership can be bought for Rs 100 and it comes with a complementary add-on of life insurance amounting to Rs 5 lakh. This membership drive has thus far gained 10 lakh members for TDP which is an unprecedented number for any party in the Telugu land.
