‘No Need for a National Language’ – KTR On Hindi

The propagation and borderline “imposition” of the Hindi language has been a major political discourse in South Indian politics. Andhra Pradesh, Deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan initiated this moment while Lokesh strengthened it by saying Hindi is a medium that can be used to develop one’s knowledge.

Incidentally, even Jagan had joined the debate and he to labelled Hindi as the national language of India.

In this context, BRS president and former IT Minister KTR reacted on this matter, and he had a pretty strong and individualistic approach on this matter.

KTR affirmatively stated that Hindi was and will never be the national language of India. In fact, he found it intrusive and detrimental for the imposition of the Hindi language on the South Indian folk against their will.

“I have nothing against Hindi language. But at the same time, there are several other languages in India, which are widely accepted. There is no need for a national language here. We’re not propagating or imposing Telugu then why should we accept Hindi as a national language. If Hindi language is being given ₹50 crore budget, why aren’t Telugu, Tamil or Malayalam given the same? KTR questioned.

While all of Andhra Pradesh leaders took a unified stand on accepting Hindi as the national language, KTR had completely different views on this matter, and he certainly had a strong point to make.
